It was great to see over 600 Spark agents at our 2026 Spark Agent Kickoff! At the session, our CEO James Jiang laid out his predictions for this year.

The broker of the future is a tech-enabled healthcare advocate

Agents are being asked to do more as carriers double down on enrollment quality, but we see real opportunity for brokers who persevere to become the new industry leaders.

This requires reimagining the agent role — evolving from transactional sales to becoming true healthcare advocates for clients. With carriers now focused on retention, accretion rates, compliance, and lifetime value, this shift is essential for success.

What Spark is building to support agents

Spark is committed to helping agents make this transition with tools for the full client journey from pre-enrollment through ongoing retention. What we're investing in:

  • Technology and products to optimize plan fit and benefits activation across all enrollment types
  • Tools and services to maximize agent efficiency, from contracting to payments.

Imagine a deeper integration of our Plan Cheatsheets tool with your book, so you can compare plan benefits with your clients' prescriptions, doctors, and needs in one place. Dashboards that give you clear visibility into enrollment quality. More ancillaries to help you ensure comprehensive coverage. Faster contracting and RTS workflows.
