Welcoming Norma Garcia, Spark’s Newest Strategic Growth Manager
Norma joins Spark in February of 2022 and brings over 20 years of experience, has worked with over 5,000 brokers, and has been a part of over 300,000 MAPD enrollments in the SoCal markets. She has focused on helping agents and agency principals understand carrier value-propositions, as well as develop and execute business plans for sales growth.
A Wealth of Experience
Among the hundreds of clients Norma helped early in her career as an agent, one story she remembers stands out the most: She was in the home of a very humble widow. Language was a barrier, and there was no immediate family available to help her navigate the complexities of Medicaid and Medicare. Norma, like many other agents, was the most qualified person who could help.
Two hours of stories, a few tears shared, haunting memories of war times and more, all crescendoed to that most rewarding moment. When Norma could say to this person, “I’ve got great news for you. Starting next month you will be able to afford not only your prescriptions, but you’ll be able to buy groceries too…”
Of that situation, Norma says, “Unfortunately there are so so many people who struggle to be able to afford their medications and their food, it’s heartbreaking. One of the most beautiful things we can do for people, as their agents, is help them find real healthcare solutions and put a little bit of money back in their pocket. Our work is so meaningful, I just love it.”

“Each time I work with an agent, or an agency, I try to highlight for them relevant business data which informs them on strategic planning. After that I work with agents to plan action items and next steps in gaining more meaningful enrollments. It’s not easy, today’s Medicare agency is in high demand, runs very complex software platforms, and works through difficult communication dynamics each day. Simplifying our business for our agents excites me, and I love it when an agency succeeds because of our collaboration.”
