As a native Oklahoman, I am a licensed independent Health and Life Insurance Agent and Medicare Broker serving individuals and families throughout Oklahoma and Texas. I have worked in the healthcare and Medicare field for more than 40 years, gaining experience with Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance, and the healthcare services that Medicare beneficiaries depend upon. My experience extends beyond insurance. After many years of leadership with the Oklahoma Medical Equipment Providers Association (OMEPA), including serving as State President, I currently serve as the Association's Executive Director. Through this work, I have had opportunities to be involved in healthcare advocacy at both the state and federal levels and to work with legislators, healthcare providers, industry leaders, and government officials on issues affecting Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. I have also had the privilege of serving on national Medicare-related committees and participating in discussions concerning Medicare benefits and the challenges beneficiaries and healthcare providers face. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on healthcare—not only from the insurance side, but also from the viewpoint of the providers and communities that serve Medicare beneficiaries every day. When I became eligible for Medicare myself, I experienced Medicare from another perspective: as a beneficiary. Even with my years of healthcare experience, I could see how easily someone can become overwhelmed by Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, Medicare Supplement plans, prescription drug coverage, Medicare Advantage plans, provider networks, copayments, deductibles, premiums, and the many rules that can affect someone's coverage. That experience strengthened my commitment to Medicare education. Today, as an independent Medicare broker, my goal is to help people better understand their Medicare choices so they can make informed decisions about their healthcare coverage. Because I am independent, I can help individuals compare options from multiple insurance carriers rather than representing only one company. I believe Medicare should be explained in language people can understand. I take the time to look at what matters to each individual—including their doctors and hospitals, prescription medications, healthcare needs, plan costs, and where they live—before helping them evaluate their options. My purpose is simple: to educate, answer questions, and help people navigate Medicare with greater knowledge and confidence.
