As a native of Oklahoma, I am a licensed independent Health and Life Insurance Agent and Broker for Oklahoma and Texas. I have worked in the Medicare field for over 39 years, serving Medicare, Medicaid, and other private health insurance companies. Today, I am serving and have been for the past 9 years as the state President and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Medical Equipment Providers Association (www.OMEPAok.com), which has expanded my knowledge of Medicare and related insurance issues. Past 6 years, served on national and Medicare committees to help build better Medicare benefits for beneficiaries. This experience has given me opportunities to work with State & US Senators, Representatives, and officials from Medicare and Medicaid, helping me understand the challenges of navigating today’s healthcare services and their benefits. When I turned 65, I personally experienced the realities of Medicare, including the complications and confusion that come with Medicare services under Parts A, B, C, and D, as well as the current state of the Medicare healthcare system. I quickly realized how overwhelming it can be when navigating various regulations, carriers’ plans, and dealing with insurance coverages.
